An armed female threat dressed for a night out. It trains officers not to sort people into threat and non-threat by appearance, and it is a clean target for teaching the cardiac box.
She is dressed for a night out, not a fight. That mismatch is the read. Bare arms and shoulders give clear anatomical landmarks, and the sequins give a bright, uniform field with no aiming aids.
It trains the shooter not to sort people into threat and non-threat by how they are dressed. It is also a clean anatomy target because so little is covered. It belongs in any shoot / no-shoot course of fire as a clear armed threat.
Two kill zones are printed on this target. Both are placed on this figure's own anatomy, not at fixed spots on the paper, so they sit where the organs are.

Bare shoulders make the box easy to check: the top edge runs just below the collarbones and the heart box sits behind the pistol and hands. Because the zones are nested, one target supports a basic standard and a strict one. Count the outer lines for qualification and the inner lines when you are training precision. The Range Manual explains how T-box, cardiac box and A/C scoring zones compare, and when to shift from the cardiac box to the head.
An E-type backer is the plastic or cardboard silhouette, 19.5" wide and 40" tall, that pop-up lifters and static stands on military and police ranges are built around. This target is cut to that same outline at 19" x 38", so the paper covers the face of the backer and the figure fills the shape from edge to edge. Hang it the way you hang any E-type facing.
The figure is printed life-size. Heads, shoulders and hands are the size they are on a real person at that distance, so sight pictures and hold-offs carry over.
Put it in a deck of rougher-looking figures and watch for the shooter who hesitates on this one only. Mix it with the no-shoot and hostage designs so the shooter never knows what the next facing will be.
Range masters, academy instructors and unit trainers who use E-type backers, and civilian instructors with silhouette stands who want armed figures that look like people an officer would meet.
A course of fire needs armed threats, no-shoots and hostage problems side by side. These five come from across the E-backer line:
