A hostage target with a tall gunman over a shorter hostage and the pistol aimed at the trainee. It is a good second step after the open-window target.
He is tall and thin, and his head rises above hers. The pistol is at her eye level, pointed at the shooter. Her hair fills the space beside his chin.
A tall gunman over a shorter hostage. It gives a good vertical gap and a pistol aimed at the shooter, a common pairing in real incidents. It carries one scoring zone, on the gunman's face.
One kill zone is printed on this target, and it is on the gunman's face.

The full head circle sits on the gunman's face, with the hostage's head below and beside his chin. The rings give you a strict standard: hold shooters to the 3-inch or 2-inch ring once they can keep every round inside the circle. See the Range Manual on choosing and running hostage targets and on how T-box, cardiac box and A/C scoring zones compare.
Most printed targets are rectangles that have to be folded or cut to fit a silhouette backer. This one is already cut to the E-type shape: 19" x 38", made to mount on the standard 19.5" x 40" E-type backer used on military and law enforcement ranges. The person on it is printed to fill that outline, so what the shooter sees downrange is a human figure and not a sheet of paper.
The figure is printed life-size. Heads, shoulders and hands are the size they are on a real person at that distance, so sight pictures and hold-offs carry over.
A good second hostage target after the tank top figure. The gap is smaller and the pistol is on the shooter. It works on static stands, turning stands and pop-up lifters that take an E-type backer.
Units and agencies that train hostage rescue and active-threat response, and experienced civilian shooters working on precision under consequence.
A course of fire needs armed threats, no-shoots and hostage problems side by side. These five come from across the E-backer line:
