A hostage target with the gunman's entire face clear above the hostage. It is the widest head window in the hostage group, built for learning the shot at speed.
He is a full head taller than she is, so his entire face is above hers and unobstructed. The pistol is level with her temple. It is the most open head in the hostage set.
The widest window in the hostage group. It lets the shooter build the head shot at speed before working down to the partial faces. In a mixed deck it is the precision problem.
One kill zone is printed on this target, and it is on the gunman's face.

The gunman's whole face is clear above the hostage. The head circle sits on it, and a low miss goes toward the hostage's head. The rings give you a strict standard: hold shooters to the 3-inch or 2-inch ring once they can keep every round inside the circle. See the Range Manual on choosing and running hostage targets and on how T-box, cardiac box and A/C scoring zones compare.
Most printed targets are rectangles that have to be folded or cut to fit a silhouette backer. This one is already cut to the E-type shape: 19" x 38", made to mount on the standard 19.5" x 40" E-type backer used on military and law enforcement ranges. The person on it is printed to fill that outline, so what the shooter sees downrange is a human figure and not a sheet of paper.
The figure is printed life-size. Heads, shoulders and hands are the size they are on a real person at that distance, so sight pictures and hold-offs carry over.
Run it on the timer from the holster. The window is generous, so the standard is speed with no rounds below the circle. Mix it with open threats so the shooter has to change gears from speed to precision.

A course of fire needs armed threats, no-shoots and hostage problems side by side. These five come from across the E-backer line:
