About this target

Home Interior Armed Man Shooting Target

Life-size 24" x 36" scenario target depicting an armed threat in the Home Interior Armed Man scenario. Trains scenario recognition, threat assessment, and precision engagement under realistic conditions — no printed T-boxes or scoring zones on the threat figure. Built for LE patrol officers, defensive-shooting civilians, and firearms instructors running qualification refreshers and scenario immersion drills.

This target offers a scenario that mirrors real-world home invasion situations, essential for law enforcement officers, military personnel, and civilian defenders. The close-quarters environment challenges the shooter to make rapid decisions under pressure. The subject's aggressive posture and the confined setting demand quick target acquisition and engagement, simulating the unpredictability of a sudden armed encounter within a home. This makes it particularly relevant for patrol officers, SWAT teams, and home defense practitioners who need to refine their skills in tight, dynamic spaces. The presence of everyday objects in the background underscores the reality of domestic threats, where the familiar can quickly turn into a battleground.

Training Purpose

This target is designed to help shooters apply their prior knowledge of anatomical shot placement in a realistic scenario without any printed guides. The absence of kill boxes, T-boxes, or scoring zones challenges the shooter to read the threat's anatomy through body posture, orientation, and clothing. The focus is on engaging the threat effectively based on the shooter's understanding of human anatomy, enhancing their ability to neutralize threats in real-world conditions.

Instructors can use this target to conduct cold cognitive drills and timed engagements, pushing shooters to process the scenario without prior briefing. By integrating this target with other NKZ scenarios, instructors can create a comprehensive training program that challenges shooters to apply their skills across various realistic conditions.

NKZ Series — No Printed Kill Boxes, No Scoring Zones

The NKZ series features targets without any printed kill boxes, T-boxes, cardiac boxes, or scoring zones on the threat figures. This series is crafted for shooters who have mastered shot-placement anatomy and are ready to apply that knowledge in realistic scenarios without visual aids. This is intermediate-to-advanced training, designed to elevate the shooter's ability to engage threats based on their understanding of human anatomy.

The realism of the scene itself becomes the training aid. Shooters must identify vital zones through the threat's body posture, orientation, and clothing, rather than relying on printed guides. This approach enhances the shooter's ability to make critical decisions based on visual cues present in real-world encounters.

Instructor Notes

For optimal training outcomes, instructors should vary the engagement distances to simulate real-life unpredictability. Starting from a holster or low-ready position can add realism, while running the scenario cold enhances decision-making skills. Scoring is based on shot placement accuracy and speed, with emphasis on hitting vital zones. This target can be integrated with other paper shooting targets to create a dynamic training deck.
