Inside it are 3-inch, 2-inch and 1-inch rings. The 1-inch ring is the X-ring, used for tie-breaks and zero checks.

Cardiac box. A 10-inch square on the upper chest, centered on the heart, with its top edge at the base of the neck just above the notch of the breastbone. Inside it are 8-inch, 6-inch and 4-inch squares. The 4-inch core lies directly over the heart.

Visible only up close. The zones are drawn in thin, pale lines. They show when you are standing at the target and vanish from the line, so nobody can index on a box.

The red graphic sits below the bottom edge of the cardiac box. The box itself lies on the dark shirt above it, behind the hands. Score it the way your course of fire requires. Hits inside the outer lines count, and the inner squares and rings let you tighten the standard as shooters improve. This one is already cut to the E-type shape: 19" x 38", made to mount on the standard 19.5" x 40" E-type backer used on military and law enforcement ranges. The person on it is printed to fill that outline, so what the shooter sees downrange is a human figure and not a sheet of paper.

The figure is printed life-size. Heads, shoulders and hands are the size they are on a real person at that distance, so sight pictures and hold-offs carry over.

Instructor Notes

Good for reduced-light work. The red skull is well below the cardiac box and draws low hits. Typical distances are 3 to 25 yards with pistol and out to 50 with a carbine.

Who This Target Is For

Agencies and units that already shoot E-type silhouettes and want a person on them.
