Its center is at eye level on the bridge of the nose and its bottom edge sits on the upper lip. Concentric 3-inch, 2-inch and 1-inch rings are printed inside it, and the 1-inch ring serves as the X-ring.

Cardiac box. A 10-inch square that starts at the base of the neck and covers the upper chest, centered on the heart. It holds 8-inch, 6-inch and 4-inch squares, and the innermost 4-inch square is the heart box.

Faint by design. The lines are thin and printed in a light tone. You can see them when you walk up to score. From the firing line they disappear, so the shooter aims at a person and not at a shape.

The torso is narrow, so the 10-inch cardiac box runs close to the edges of the body and the inner 6-inch and 4-inch squares matter more for scoring. Score it the way your course of fire requires. Hits inside the outer lines count, and the inner squares and rings let you tighten the standard as shooters improve. This one is already cut to the E-type shape: 19" x 38", made to mount on the standard 19.5" x 40" E-type backer used on military and law enforcement ranges. The person on it is printed to fill that outline, so what the shooter sees downrange is a human figure and not a sheet of paper.

The figure is printed life-size. Heads, shoulders and hands are the size they are on a real person at that distance, so sight pictures and hold-offs carry over.

Instructor Notes

Run it right after a male shoot target on the timer.
